Its like because there is a best time to catch fish doesn't mean you will. Unless a species is dependant on certain conditions like night feeders just as IRL there isnt any time in the 24 hour cycle that a record fish cannot be caught. The game doesn't just put peek times it seems to me its set in stone times outside of these times everything goes to sleep for the most part. Plenty of oxygen in the water and cover from above carp will feed all day. On days where the weather is unsettled most fishing is better. 8 ft 6/0 Lemon Crank does work too but once again, you won't catch as many.Carp feed dusk till dawn and throughout the day on and off Hot days 12pm-3pm ish they seek shade or just bask on the top but you still can catch them. And when you find the sweet spot to cast to, you can get 2 a minute. Yes they cost extra for every fish you catch but I did a Pike only day and hit $29,000 cash so it more than pays for itself. 7/0 Hook with shiners is what most people use. Now that was only 8 catches in 3 hours of peak time, if you concider how many pike you catch in the same time floating with shiners then it shows how ineffective the lures really are here for pike. The only thing that have some moderate success for me is the big #6/0 spinner. Popper 4/0 : 2 catches ( lots of miss hits ) I did some more testing during another peak time: ( Almost exactly the same as EzFishLure's setup, just a different reel ) The problem is they don't bite on lures. ![]() The problem is not the gear, I have strong gear.
